Involve the inspiring
Community work: time to get involved.
As a nucleargraduate, you’ll spend 10% of your scheme giving something back to the community in which you work. Over two years, that’s a lot of time. But once you understand the dynamics of our industry, you’ll understand why this is so important.
To start with, we don’t have customers in the same way as other companies. We have stakeholders. And time after time, we’ve found that the most important stakeholders are the communities in which we operate. Consistently, nuclear organisations are huge employers – and often in very remote areas. We have a duty to support these communities, because they support us in so many different ways. It’s only fair.
If you’re going to thrive in this industry, that’s something you’ll need to learn quickly. This is why, wherever you’re seconded, you’ll be working on projects in schools, community groups and small businesses local to you. We’ll see you as ambassadors for this programme and the industry as a whole.
But this isn’t a one sided affair and we’re not into patronage. The people you work with in the community will be directly and indirectly inspiring you – to listen better, think deeper and understand more readily.
