Sellafield Ltd is the company responsible for safely delivering decommissioning, reprocessing, nuclear waste management and fuel manufacturing activities on behalf of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority. Now under the ownership of Nuclear Management partners, Sellafield Ltd has the largest concentration of nuclear expertise in Europe, with over 50 years of experience. Across our business we are carrying out some of the most innovative and complex nuclear activities in the world.
The company has sites at Sellafield in Cumbria and Capenhurst in Cheshire as well as an extensive engineering design capability based at Risley in Warrington.
Our site at Sellafield is spread across 6 square miles and is home to more than 1,000 facilities, all performing a wide range of tasks. These include decommissioning the UK's nuclear legacy as well fuel recycling, manufacturing and the management of low, high and intermediate level nuclear waste.
Our proud heritage also includes the development of the world's first commercial nuclear power station, Calder Hall.
