Hints and Tips
- Be prepared for the challenges ahead. This isn’t a typical graduate programme – it’s going to be tough and potentially life changing. But the rewards will be great.
- Complete your application form wisely. Not only does it give you the opportunity to get on the programme, but also to be considered by other companies like Rolls Royce, Amec, Atkins, Magnox, Westinghouse and Sellafield. So make sure you tick “Yes” when asked if you don’t mind your application being forwarded. You’ll be directly contacted by these companies if you are successful.
- Consider the generous benefits we offer when making your decision. Our holidays and training time are second to none, as is our innovative community project work.
- Do your research about the industry. We want you to understand the nuclear sector and what makes it tick.
- When giving examples of your skills and capabilities, make them work or study based whenever it’s possible. Solving a dispute about milk in your student house will not carry as much weight as solving a dispute with a customer at work.
- Make yourself stand out. We expect 1000 applications per month for this programme. We want to know about what makes you different and what you are passionate about. Saying you go to the gym and like to socialise might be true, but it won’t be enough to make us sit up and take notice.
- Security is key. Make sure you start preparing references and documents as soon as you can. See the Selection page for a reminder.
